Privacy statement

We care about privacy as much as you do. Here you find an overview of what data we collect from you, what for, and what we do with it.

Who is Girls Who Like Code?

Girls Who Like Code (GWLC for short) is nothing more than an informal organization that hosts a meetup every two months for women in tech. Currently GWLC is organized by Hillie Kootstra and Rosien van Toor, with the website being hosted by Hanneke Laaning from Studio Vensterbank. GWCL is not a legal entity, business, corporation or non-profit. Technically, we don’t really exist outside our meetups and this website.

Which data do we collect?

Not that much, actually! On this website you will only find a contact form where the only required field is your email address, which we will only use to answer your question.

There is also an option to subscribe to our mailing list, which means that the email address you provide will automatically be added to our Mailchimp mailing list, which we will use to send you around six emails per year about upcoming meetups. Nothing more. We do not share your email with third parties, we do not send you spam you didn’t ask for, and of course you can unsubscribe at any time!

Registration for our events is through, a third-party website. There is no information shared between this website and meetup, and meetup has their own privacy policy. If you don’t want to create an account at meetup we totally understand, but in that case you will need to sign up for our events by sending us an email. In that case we of course we will only use your contact details (really, only your email address is required) to keep track of who will be attending the event, and not for anything else!

Requests or more information?

For more information, please contact us on info[at] Of course you can ask GWLC to share any data we have of you and/or to remove it, using the same email address.
